The Friendswood Volunteer Fire Department will hosts FREE CPR classes for those individuals interested in learning Adult and Infant CPR. This class will include the American Heart Association’s “CPR for Friends & Family” program. This is a non-certification course designed to teach citizens what to do to help loved ones during the first few moments of a cardiac arrest.

The classes are held at the Kenneth M. Camp Fire Station - Station 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Please call 281-996-3360 for the next scheduled class.

The Vial of Life Program is designed to help provide medical information in emergency situations that we encounter. The actual Vial holds a medical information card that has all the important information we would need if the patient is unable to communicate with us for whatever reason. The Vial should be kept in the freezer / refrigerator (Our program asks for the freezer). If a household participates in this program, there will be a decal placed on / near the front door and one on the refrigerator.

Our program has also created Wallet Cards. These cards hold important medical information, but are designed for people to carry them in your wallet, purse, car, etc. These forms are not given inside the Vial itself, they are given out separately.

If citizens need help with this program or need additional forms, they can call Friendswood Fire Department at 281-996-3360 during business hours to request assistance.

Motor vehicle crashes are the No. 1 killer of kids. Why? In many cases, children are either not properly buckled into their safety seats or parents don’t realize that a booster seat is vital to ensuring children fit safely in their vehicle’s seat belt. Don’t take a chance. Have your child’s safety seat inspected.

7 out of 10 kids in child safety seats are not properly buckled in.

Free car seat checks are available by appointment every other Monday from 4:30pm - 8:30pm.

To schedule a car seat check please contact Officer Crouch with the Friendswood Police Department at 281-996-3316.
