The Friendswood Volunteer Fire Department is currently accepting applications for new members in both our Fire and EMS Divisions. Due to the rapid growth in the city, volunteers are needed to increase available staffing at all of our stations. No experience is necessary, only a desire to give something back to your community. Fire Division members initially attend the department’s own “New Member Training Program” and then receive additional training provided through the Texas A&M Fire School and other internal and external programs. EMS training can be obtained through one of the local community colleges with continuing education hours provided through our regularly scheduled training. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate. All members will receive credit towards retirement income with the State of Texas Firemen’s Pension Fund and are fully vested after 15 years of active service.
